The Northern Beaches community feeling at and during the Great War of 1914-1918 for the men who volunteered, those that supported the war effort at home and those that provided unselfishly to provide support to families who suffered through the loss of their men was palpable . It is bourne out by the large number of Honour Rolls established in Sporting Clubs, Surf Life Saving Clubs, Schools and Churches to remember all those who volunteered to serve and to sadly highlight those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
These Honour Rolls hold pride of place in these Clubs, Associations, Churches, Schools et al and we are pleased to provide a place where they are available for all to see and perhaps link our family histories to those that we know and recognise. It is also an opportunity for visitors to this website to add additional information and due covenance to the stories and information that has already been identified. Please see this as a venue to further your and our memories of that time.
We are also adding the local volunteer groups that were formed out of support for families that had been devastated by the loss of the 'breadwinner in the family during this conflict and required accommodation or had other family support requirements.
Click on the links shown below to see the information available. In respect to the Rolls' of Honour we have endeavoured to ensure that their names are included in the searchable NB Soldiers Database.
